Digital Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY

The Digital Specialist acts as the hands, eyes, and ears of clients’ online content and is responsible for building, implementing, and monitoring online content on a variety of platforms. The primary focus of this role is on paid media management, including Facebook/Instagram Ads, Google ads, Snapchat, DSPs and wherever we can reach our target audiences online. In addition to this, you’ll play a role supporting the team to deliver and produce organic social media content, New/Mode actions and mass emails sent via NationBuilder, ActionNetwork, EveryAction, and other CRMs. This position also assists with evaluating content performance and making recommendations for content optimization and works as part of an integrated paid media team, which handles large ad buys on both digital and traditional platforms.

A keen eye for detail, a love for data analysis and a familiarity of social media advertising platforms is a must, as is a base knowledge of HTML and familiarity with online content management systems. We’re after a digital native who can quickly adapt and understand new platforms and technologies.

This position can be based out of Vancouver, Toronto, Edmonton or Ottawa. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, we are working remotely.

We are currently looking for either a Junior Digital Specialist or a Digital Specialist.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Junior Digital Specialist:

  • Support Digital Specialists and Senior Digital Specialists, as assigned. 
  • Complete their training and work closely with more senior specialists to develop their skills.
  • Support business development, sales and marketing as required. 
  • Deliver work that’s impactful, innovative and fun. 

Digital Specialist:

  • Direct small and medium projects, as assigned.  
  • Lead deliverables in their area of focus, as assigned.  
  • Support deliverable leads in their focus area, as assigned. 
  • Support business development, sales and marketing as required. 
  • Deliver work that’s impactful, innovative and fun. 

WHAT YOU DO

  • Assist in building and implementing digital ad campaigns, as required.
  • Assist in the monitoring of active ad buys and drafting reports on performance of ad campaigns, as required.
  • Assist in the publication and scheduling of organic social media content for clients, including the creation of content calendars, scheduling client social post, etc. as required. 
  • Assist with the maintenance of key PB ad accounts.
  • Coding, building, QA’ing, and sending email blasts and digital organizing programs.
  • Setting up and maintaining accounts on digital campaigning tools, such as New/Mode, NationBuilder, ActionNetwork.
  • Developing and running reports for client projects, including marketing email performance, fundraising performance, lead generation ROI, and ad campaign results.
  • Establishing and maintaining integrations between various SaSS platforms.
  • Implementing tracking pixels and other monitoring and evaluation features as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

YOU BRING

  • 1-2+ years online advertising/media planning experience or digital campaign experience.
  • Experience with programmatic ad buying (self-serve and managed service), self-serve social ad buying (primarily YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram), Google search, display, and other digital campaigns.
  • Experience using first party data and pixels to reach targeted audiences and drive conversions.
  • Specific experience with email and mobile phone acquisition campaigns – either in business lead generation or issue/election campaign acquisition.
  • Solid knowledge of website and social media analytics tools (e.g., Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Facebook Insights & Analytics, and new tools as required).
  • Proficient in Slack, Google Docs and other digital collaboration tools.
  • Experience in analyzing data and/or market research.
  • Must be extremely detail oriented, passionate about data analysis, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment while working independently.

NICE TO HAVES

  • Experience working with CRMs & landing page tools including NationBuilder, ActionNetwork, New/Mode, and EveryAction.
  • Knowledge of data scraping, business analytics tools, SQL, data management and data hygiene.
  • Experience with online research tools such as Nielsen, @Plan, AdRelevance, etc.
  • Experience with landing page optimization – using Optimizely or Google Optimize.
  • Knowledge of HTML, Twig, and Liquid.

Compensation

Salary is commensurate with experience and will be negotiated with the successful candidate, but likely to be within the range of $50,000-$60,000.
