Strategist (Alberta)

Point Blank’s Alberta team is playing a pivotal role in the lead up to the next provincial election in 2023. As a stellar strategist and dependable consultant, you’d be responsible for leading our strategic work on high-impact campaigns and projects, including our rapid-response work on pressing issues. 

We’ve already delivered wins for people in Alberta at the bargaining table, at the ballot box, and at every level of government. Point Blank works with some of the largest and most powerful organizations in Alberta including Alberta Federation of Labour, Alberta Teachers Association, United Nurses of Alberta, Alberta’s NDP, Amalgamated Transit Union, Canadian Labour Congress, United Steelworkers, Unifor, and many more. 


  1. Strategist for medium to large-scale campaigns and projects, and rapid response campaigns
  2. Lead client and stakeholder discovery and research
  3. Craft smart and impactful strategies and campaign plans
  4. Draft insightful briefs to inform our creative, paid media, web and organizing teams
  5. Review and approve key project deliverables
  6. Provide ongoing strategic advice and identify innovative approaches, tools and tactics to help our clients win


  • A savvy campaigner with 3+ years of direct experience working on similar campaigns, or leading campaign strategy and planning. 
  • Have held a related role in an agency or political, labour, non-profit, NGO or progressive organization; or have related experience in movement building and/or issue-based campaigning; or have comparable experience in an adjacent sector paired with strong knowledge of the progressive political landscape. 
  • Familiarity with the latest campaign tactics and technology, including but not limited to tools to drive impact for acquisition campaigns, advocacy campaigns, email programs, fundraising programs, awareness and persuasion campaigns, digital organizing, member engagement, GOTV, and more.
  • Have a keen interest in helping to grow our work in existing and new practice areas.
  • Happy to work non-standard hours and travel to complete the required responsibilities.

Salary is commensurate with experience and is expected to be in the $70,000–$85,000 range.
