Nine Reed Awards Nominations for Political Advertising

January 14, 2020

📣 Nominations for the 2020 Reed Awards were finally announced! In total, our work on three different Canadian campaigns received 9 nominations including Best TV Ad (Overall). We’re excited to be competing against the best political & advocacy campaigns in the world. Fingers crossed that one of our videos makes the list of winners! 🤞🏻

Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions (CFNU) – Care, Not Cuts Campaign

The Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions—representing unionized nurses from coast to coast—fights to ensure nurse-friendly decisions are made in Ottawa. Knowing that their members are the most trusted profession in the country, they teamed up with Point Blank ahead of the federal election to mobilize their members online and ensure Canadians chose care instead of cuts.

Blank created a bilingual campaign including a central website, a flagship ad, a suite of pre-election and election digital ads, and poster designs for this campaign.

Nominated for:

  • Best online ad campaign
  • Best online political ad
  • Best international online video (national campaign)
  • Best Canadian online video

Unifor Canada – Stop Scheer Campaign

Working with Unifor, we produced Canada’s biggest third-party campaign in the 2019 federal election. The anti-Conservative campaign included multiple ads for TV and digital, including the nominated spot.  We stopped Scheer in 73% of the ridings we targeted.

Nominated for:

  • Best TV ad overall
  • Best International TV ad
  • Best Canadian TV ad
  • Best Canadian online video

Project Alberta – What’s Inside Jason Kenny?

The Project Alberta campaign was seen by over 1 million Albertans as part of the 2019 Alberta Provincial Election. Project Alberta included a series of 3D animations bringing attention to Jason Kenney and the record of his UCP candidates. Our campaign included two 30-second versions titled What’s Inside Jason Kenney’s UCP? and How Long Can He Hold It Together?

Nominated for:

  • Best international online video (sub-national campaign)
